I purchased the Gen2 mount and a mobile base for my SYIL X7. I used a washer with the provided M10 screw and the mount works great with the pioneer tool setter. The mobile base is also magnet. I'm able to keep it on the table outside of the travels and move my tool setter when it's not needed.
I have purchased four of these units now. Three GEN1 and one GEN2. This product is very accurate and very well built. We have the ability to move one probe between multiple machines if required. Since we machine dry and produce a lot of dust this allows us to remove the probe from the machine and place it back in without any tools required.

It seems like a good product. Works good now. I think over time it will prove to be a great improvement over the original installation from Haas. Very nice to have the probe out of the way during set ups and run time.

I bought this device to keep my Renishaw out of the blasting coolant, and in the future, hopefully to use it on multiple machines. I set it up, and after using it for a while, it is still working amazingly well. My only issue, is that ferrous metal chips really get buried in the crevices between the magnets. It hasn't affected the performance, but I would like a way to keep it clean. I think you will enjoy this device.

We were looking for two solutions. One was a removable tool off-setter that repeated for our CNC mill, this product is great because it allows us to put in oversize jobs and not have to re-calibrate our probe. The Second was as a tool calibration device for our lathe, even though the lathes did come with a factory probe, it was difficult to use because it had little to no clearance with long work pieces or larger chucks. We were able to use the kinematic mount to get around this problem and share one probe with multiple machines.
The removable probe holder looks great and works great. I get zero movement on my indicator each of the times I measured for return to zero accuracy. It’s a smart and well-made tool for sure. Thanks for getting it to me via two-day air.
