Kinematic Base only for Exact Engineering Renishaw OTS/RTS Tool Probe mounting system.

By adding additional kinematic bases you can share the same tool probe that is mounted to our system on one machine to other machines.

To do this you must have a tool probe installed on our Tool Probe Mount and aligned to a machine. Once aligned, demount and re-mount it on another machine that has a kinematic base installed. Then calibrate the XYZ location on the new machine.

In fact, you can put multiple kinematic bases on the same machine and use the probe at different locations, just calibrate the new XYZ location and recall it later. Be sure the kinematic base is installed on a surface that is known to be perpendicular to the machine spindle like the top of a vise or 4th axis. You can even the kinematic base mount on a custom pedestal if necessary.

So how is it possible to share tool probes across machines? There are two reasons.

1. Because the mounting/de-mounting system is kinematic, the location repeatability is better than the machine.

2. Each kinematic base is ground to be identically parallel to the next so there is no measurable parallelism difference between the bases. This is why you only need to align the probe button once.
